Got a rejection on a battery report upload: “The certification body is no longer accepted. Certificates from this institution will not be processed.”
Is this happening to others? Does Temu EU now only accept certifications from a specific list of approved labs?
Also a few questions for anyone who’s dealt with this:
Can one battery certificate cover multiple products? If they use the same battery, can I use the same report across different listings?
For products with built‑in batteries – do I need to disassemble the product and show the battery in the photos? Do they actually check that the battery info matches the certificate?
Appreciate any insights!

Can one battery certificate cover multiple products?
It depends. If the products use exactly the same battery (same brand, model, capacity, voltage), you can usually use one certificate for all of them. Color variations are fine. But if the battery capacity or size is different, you need separate certifications.
One trick: some labs will list multiple product models on the same certificate if they’re part of a series. Check with your lab – they might be able to issue one report covering several similar products.
Built‑in batteries – do you need to disassemble?
Yes, you generally need to show the battery in your photos. The platform wants to see:
Basically, they need proof that the battery in your product is exactly what’s listed in the certificate. If the certificate says one battery model and your photos show something different, they’ll reject it.
Cost estimate
I had to re‑test a product recently. Battery certification (UN38.3 + IEC 62133) from an approved lab cost me about €400–500. The full CE (EMC + LVD + RoHS) was another €600–700. It’s not cheap.
If you have multiple products that use the same battery, try to get the battery cert first and then see if the lab can issue product‑specific reports based on that. Some labs will do a “family model” approach to save costs.
One thing to watch: even if the lab was on the list before, they sometimes remove labs. So a certificate that worked six months ago might get rejected now. Always check before you assume.
Make sure your product photos match your certificate exactly. If you’re using a battery from a different manufacturer than what’s on the certificate, get it updated before uploading.
